It was the fastest growth since the last quarter of 2013 (6.3 percent), mainly boosted by gains in: internal trade (3.2% vs 2.7%); transportation and storage (6.5% vs 5.1%); telecommunications (5.5% vs 4.6%); finance and insurance (7.1% vs 4.7%); business services (3.5% vs 2.7%); manufacturing (10.8% vs 0.5%); construction (7.4% vs 4.6%); agriculture (10.2% vs 5.7%) and fishing (29.0% vs 6.0%). On the expenditure side, private consumption increased 5.0 percent (vs 3.0% in Q1), whereas government spending climbed at a slower pace of 3.3 percent (vs 7.0%). Meantime, gross fixed capital formation jumped 6.9 percent (vs 5.6%). Finally, exports surged by 7.8 percent (vs 6.3%), led by natural gas (49%) while imports grew at a softer 6.8 percent (vs 8.0%), driven by machinery for industrial use (30%).
