The Dutch economy expanded by 1.3% year-on-year in the second quarter of 2026, the lowest in two years, following a 1.4% increase in the previous quarter.
Growth was primarily driven by public and household consumption.
Government spending rose by 2.5%, while household consumption increased by 1.3%.
Fixed investment also contributed positively, rising 0.4% from a year earlier.
Meanwhile, exports grew by 2.5%, outpacing the 2.1% increase in imports, resulting in a positive contribution from net trade to overall economic growth.
On the production side, the trade, accommodation and food services, transportation and storage, and public sectors made the largest contributions to GDP growth compared with the second quarter of 2025.
