Montenegro Industrial Production at 2.70 percent  
Montenegro´s industrial production increased 2.7 percent year-on-year in August of 2017, following a 0.2 percent rise in July. It is the highest gain in industrial output since February, as production jumped for mining and quarrying (98.4 percent from 123.6 percent in July) and shrank less for manufacturing (-1.8 percent from -14.6 percent). On the other hand, electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply dropped 8.9 percent after rising 5.1 percent. On a monthly basis, industrial production increased 3.4 percent, after a 23 percent jump in July.

Montenegro Inflation Rate at 2.80 percent  
The annual inflation rate in Montenegro increased to 2.8 percent in August of 2017 from 2.4 percent in the previous month. It is the highest inflation rate since May of 2013, mainly due to a jump in cost of housing and utilities (3.1 percent compared to 2.4 percent in July) and transport (6.5 percent compared to 4 percent). In addition, prices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco recorded the biggest increase (15 percent compared to 4.1 percent). On the other hand, prices rose less for food and non-alcoholic beverages (1.4 percent compared to 2.4 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices went up 0.5 percent, following a 0.2 percent rise in July.
