Moldova’s annual inflation rate eased to 6.3% in July 2026 from 6.5% in June, marking the lowest reading in four months.
The moderation was driven mainly by slower food inflation (5.2% vs. 5.7%), as vegetable price growth slowed sharply.
Inflation also eased for bread, meat and eggs, while fresh fruit and dairy prices accelerated modestly.
Non-food inflation was broadly stable (6.6% vs. 6.5%), with fuel and lubricants remaining the main source of pressure (18.7% vs. 19.1%).
Services inflation edged down slightly (7.35% vs. 7.43%), despite an acceleration in passenger transport costs (28.7% vs. 27.7%).
On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell 0.1% month-on-month in July 2026, matching the 0.1% decline recorded in the previous month.
