Moldova Trade Deficit Widens in November

Moldova recorded a trade deficit of USD 583.3 million in November 2025, widening sharply from USD 478.4 million in the same month last year, as imports outpaced exports.
Imports rose 20.3% year-on-year to USD 979.2 million, driven by higher purchases from the EU (up 28.0%), CIS countries (up 3.9%), and other regions (up 12.6%).
Exports grew 18.0% to USD 395.9 million, supported by increased sales to CIS countries (up 13.4%), the EU (up 8.8%), and other countries (up 52.0%).
For the January–November period, Moldova’s trade deficit expanded to USD 6,392.0 million, compared with USD 4,934.7 million in the same period last year.
