Industrial production in Mauritius rose by 2.6% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2025, marking the highest since Q2 2023 and accelerating from a 1.5% growth in the previous period, driven by accelerated output growth in electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply (8.9% vs. 1.6% in Q4 2024) and manufacturing (1.8% vs. 1.4%).
Conversely, growth slowed in mining and quarrying (2.2% vs. 9%) and water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation (0.1% vs. 1.1%).
On a quarterly basis, industrial production decreased by 18.3% in Q1 2025, reversing from a 14.0% expansion in Q4 2024.
