Macau Tourist Arrivals Up 10.6% in March

The number of tourist arrivals in Macau rose 10.6% year-on-year to 3.394 million in March 2026 from a 32.6% jump in the previous month.

Same-day visitors and overnight visitors increased by 16.6% and 2.2%, respectively.

Meanwhile, the average length of stay of visitors shortened by 0.1 day year-on-year to 1 day, with that of overnight visitors remaining unchanged at 2.3 days.

By source market, visitors from China jumping by 10.6% to 2,392,526 in March, with those travelling under the Individual Visit Scheme advanced 17.9% to 1,265,730.

Visitors from Hong Kong (621,973) and Taiwan (102,682) increased by 4.5% and 35.1%, respectively.

Philippine (+4.9%, 41,129), Indian (+30.6%, 10,959), and US (+11.3%, 15,250) visitors grew, while Japan (-1.1%, 17,982) and Singapore (-2.3%, 11,449) posted declines.

In the first quarter of 2026, the number of visitor arrivals advanced 13.7% to 11,213,904.

Macau Tourism Jumps Over Lunar Holidays
The number of tourist arrivals in Macau jumped 32.6% year-on-year to 4.173 million in February 2026, following a 15.5% increase in January, driven by the Lunar New Year holidays. Same-day visitors and overnight visitors rose by 41.8% and 18.8%, respectively. Meanwhile, the average length of stay of visitors shortened by 0.2 day year-on-year to 0.9 day, with that of overnight visitors decreasing by 0.1 day to 2.1 days. By source market, visitors from China climbed by 43.6% year-on-year to 3,291,164 in February, with those travelling under the Individual Visit Scheme surged by 52.7% to 2,032,456. Visitors from Hong Kong (591,300) and Taiwan region (89,628) rose by 2.0% and 31.9%, respectively. Philippine (+16.3%, 45,195), Indian (+42.5%, 5,831), and US (+5.5%, 11,142) visitors rose, while Indonesia (-22.3%, 11,587), Thailand (-11.4%, 9,973), and South Korea (-5.6%, 55,994) saw declines. In the first two months of 2026, number of visitor arrivals rose by 15.1% to 7,820,268.

Macau Tourist Arrivals Up 15.5% in January
The number of tourist arrivals in Macau rose 15.5% year-on-year to 3.647 million in January 2026, easing from a 17.8% increase in December. Same day visitors grew 4.6% year-on-year, while overnight visitors declined 6.6%. Meanwhile, the average length of stay remained at 1 day, with overnight visitors’ stays increasing by 0.1 day to 2.3 days. By source market, arrivals from China fell 1.6% year-on-year to 2.705 million, with those traveling under the Individual Visit Scheme down 9.6% to 1.452 million, mainly due to a higher comparison base as last year’s Lunar New Year holidays fell in late January. Arrivals from Hong Kong declined 1.3%, while Taiwan rose 20.7%. In addition, visitors from Malaysia (52.3%), Thailand (80.5%), and Singapore (28.6%) surged, whereas arrivals from the Philippines (-6.3%) and Indonesia (-21.8%) declined.
