Macau Inflation Eases Slightly

The annual inflation rate in Macau edged down to 0.69% in December 2025 from November’s fifteen-month high of 0.72%.
Price growth slowed for recreation, sport, and culture (1.89% vs 3.08% in November), miscellaneous goods and services (1.84 % vs 1.97%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (0.80% vs 1.69%), household furnishings and services (0.52% vs 0.58%), and education (1.52% vs 1.61%).
On the other hand, inflation picked up for transport (0.56% vs 0.46%), while remained relatively steady for food and non-alcoholic beverages (1.27% vs 1.25%) and housing and fuels (at 0.17%).
On a monthly basis, consumer prices advanced 0.17% in December, the highest increase since January, following a 0.11% rise in the previous month.
In 2025, the inflation rate was 0.33%.
