Lithuania Retail Sales Growth at 3-Month High

Retail sales in Lithuania rose 8.9% year-on-year in April 2026 from an upwardly revised 6.7% in the previous month and marking the strongest growth since January.
Sales growth accelerated in retail trade excluding automotive fuel (11.4% vs. 6.8% in March), non-food products (18.8% vs. 10.1%), mail-order and internet sales (34.6% vs. 21.1%), and non-specialized stores (25.2% vs. 18.3%).
In specialized stores, retail activity also expanded for textiles, clothing, and footwear (7.6% vs. 6.1%), audio, video, hardware, furniture, and lighting (21.1% vs. 7.1%), information and communication goods (7.2% vs. 2.4%), and pharmaceuticals, medical goods, and cosmetics (13.1% vs. 9.0%).
In contrast, sales growth slowed for food, alcoholic beverages, and tobacco (1.5% vs. 2.2%), while automotive fuel sales declined (-0.9% vs. 6.6%).
On a monthly basis, retail activity eased 1.8% in April from an upwardly revised 3.7% in the previous period.
