Lithuania Retail Sales Rise the Least in 7 Months

Retail sales in Lithuania increased by 2.4% year-on-year in December 2025, easing from an upwardly revised 3.5% rise in the previous month.
This was the smallest increase since May, as growth in non-food sales slowed further (7.2% vs 8.2% in November) and sales of automotive fuel fell more sharply (-7.7% vs -3.9%).
Within the non-food segment, a notable slowdown was recorded in sales of information and communication equipment, cultural and recreation goods, watches and jewellery, and other new goods in specialised stores (1.4% vs 5.3%) and audio, video, hardware, furniture, and lighting in specialised stores (1.6% vs 2.8%).
Meanwhile, sales of food, alcoholic beverages, and tobacco continued to rise (1.9% vs 1.5%).
On a monthly basis, retail sales rose by 0.4% in December, following an upwardly revised 0.9% gain in November.
For the full year of 2025, retail sales were 3.5% higher than in 2024.
