Kyrgyzstan Industrial Activity Slows to 8-Month Low

Industrial production in Kyrgyzstan grew by 5.0% year-on-year in June 2026, marking the lowest level in eight months and slowing further from a 13.4% increase in the previous month.

Mining activities declined sharply by 13.8%, following a 6.4% increase in the previous month.

Other sectors also eased significantly, with manufacturing activities slowing to 9.6% growth from 16.9% and supply of electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning eased to 2.3% from 27.3%.

A further decline in activity was halted by a 19.7% surge in water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities, materials recovery, reversing a 3.4% decline in the previous period.

Over the first half of the year, industrial output expanded 12.7%, a higher pace compared to 12.5% recorded in the same period a year earlier.

Industrial production in Kyrgyzstan grew by 13.4% year-on-year in May 2026, slowing from a 16.8% rise in the previous month. This marked the softest growth in industrial activity since February, largely due to a 3.4% output drop (vs 3.6% in April) in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply. Production growth also slowed for mining and quarrying (6.4% vs 7%) and manufacturing (16.9% vs 20.7%). On the other hand, activity surged for water supply, wastewater and waste management, and material recovery, climbing 27.3% after a 9.5% gain in the prior month. In the first five months of the year, industrial output expanded by 14.4%, compared to a 12.9% growth recorded in the same period a year earlier.

Kyrgyzstan Industrial Output Expands at Softer Pace
Industrial production in Kyrgyzstan rose 16.8% year-on-year in April 2026, easing slightly from 17.4% in the previous month. Manufacturing growth softened (20.7% vs. 22.3% in March), mainly due to slower output in basic metals (15.2% vs. 22.2%) and rubber and plastics products (12.1% vs. 19.2%). Growth in mining and quarrying also moderated (7% vs. 10.2%). Meanwhile, output rebounded for electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply (3.6% vs. -4.1%), while water supply growth accelerated (9.5% vs. 7.3%). In the first four months of the year, industrial activity expanded 14.7%, slightly higher than the 14.2% growth recorded in the same period a year earlier.
