Industrial production in Kyrgyzstan grew by 13.4% year-on-year in May 2026, slowing from a 16.8% rise in the previous month.

This marked the softest growth in industrial activity since February, largely due to a 3.4% output drop (vs 3.6% in April) in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply.

Production growth also slowed for mining and quarrying (6.4% vs 7%) and manufacturing (16.9% vs 20.7%).

On the other hand, activity surged for water supply, wastewater and waste management, and material recovery, climbing 27.3% after a 9.5% gain in the prior month.

In the first five months of the year, industrial output expanded by 14.4%, compared to a 12.9% growth recorded in the same period a year earlier.
