Ecuador Inflation Eases in August

Ecuador’s annual inflation rate eased to 1.12% in August 2026 from 1.39% in July.
Goods inflation slowed to 0.72% from 1.44%, while services inflation accelerated to 1.60% from 1.33%.
Food prices recorded another month of deflation, deepening to 1.32% from 0.71%.
Fuel prices surged 24.64% amid the rally in international crude oil prices driven by supply disruptions related to the US-Iran war, although the increase was slower than July’s 31.09% rise.
On a monthly basis, Ecuador’s CPI edged up 0.04% after falling 0.1% in July.
Year-to-date inflation reached 1.34%.
