The annual inflation rate in Denmark rose to 1.9% in December 2024, up from 1.6% in each of the previous two months.
This marked the highest reading since May, mainly driven by higher prices for food & non-alcoholic beverages (4.7% vs 3.9% in November) and restaurants & hotels (2.6% vs 0.6%).
Additionally, costs rebounded for transport (0.3% vs -0.5%) and communication (2.3% vs -1.1%).
On the other hand, price growth slowed for housing & utilities (3.2% vs 3.5%).
Meanwhile, the core inflation, which excludes energy and unprocessed food, picked up to 1.5% in December, from November’s three-month low of 1.2%.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices decreased by 0.3% in December, the same pace as in the prior month.
