Croatia Producer Inflation at Highest Since March 2023

Producer prices in Croatia increased by 8.6% year-on-year in September 2026, accelerating from 6.2% in the previous month and marking the highest reading since March 2023.

Costs in mining and quarrying advanced sharply (39.6% vs 28.7% in August), reflecting higher prices in the extraction of crude petroleum and natural gas (76.3% vs 54.1%).

Additionally, manufacturing prices continued to rise (8.2% vs 5.6%), particularly for the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum (86.4% vs 59.6%), chemicals and chemical products (6.6% vs 6.0%), and wood and wood products, except furniture, articles of straw and plaiting materials (7.0% vs 6.5%).

Prices for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply also edged higher (6.9% vs 5.6%).

In contrast, inflation eased for basic metals (5.1% vs 6.2%) and wearing apparel (1.9% vs 2.1%).

On a monthly basis, producer prices rose 2.6% in September, following a 1.3% increase in the previous month.

Additionally, manufacturing prices continued to rise (5.6% vs 4.3%), particularly for the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum (59.6% vs 38.7%), basic metals (6.2% vs 3.6%), chemicals and chemical products (6.0% vs 5.2%), wearing apparel (2.1% vs 1.5%), and wood and wood products, except furniture, articles of straw and plaiting materials (6.5% vs 6.1%). Prices for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply also edged higher (5.6% vs 5.4%). On a monthly basis, producer prices rose 1.3% in August, recovering from a 0.2% fall in the previous month.

Croatia Producer Inflation Eases to 4-Month Low
Producer prices in Croatia increased by 4.9% year-on-year in July 2026, easing from 5.7% in the previous month, marking the lowest reading in four months. The slowdown was mainly driven by a softer increase in mining and quarrying prices (13.9% vs. 18.5% in June), largely reflecting a slower rise in crude petroleum and natural gas extraction (19.5% vs. 30.8%). Manufacturing producer price inflation also moderated (4.3% vs. 5.3%), due to a sharp easing in prices of coke and refined petroleum products (38.7% vs. 54.6%). In contrast, inflation accelerated slightly for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (5.4% vs. 4.7%), while price growth also edged up for water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities (2.0% vs. 1.8%). On a monthly basis, producer prices declined by 0.2%, easing from a 0.3% decline in the previous month.
