Croatia Producer Inflation Cools Down in October

The annual producer price inflation in Croatia eased to 0.1% in December 2025 from a twenty-month-high of 2% in the previous month. This marked the lowest reading since April, largely driven by a steep price decline in mining and quarrying (-11.8% vs 18% in November), particularly in extraction of crude petroleum and natural gas (-29.2% vs 16.1%). Costs also increased at a softer pace for manufacturing (0.3% vs 0.9%), mainly for tobacco products (1.6% vs 3.9%), repair and installation of machinery and equipment (5.6% vs 8.6%), alongside further declines in coke and refined petroleum products (-8% vs -1.3%). Additionally, producer inflation slowed for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (0.3% vs 3.6%), and water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities (1.2% vs 1.4%). Excluding energy, prices were unchanged at 1.1% in December. On a monthly basis, producer prices fell by 0.4%, reversing a 0.4% increase in November.

The annual producer price inflation in Croatia rose to 2% in November 2025, accelerating from 1.3% in the previous month. This marks the highest reading since August 2023, mainly due to a sharp pickup in price growth in mining and quarrying, which jumped to 18% from 1.5% in October, driven by a broad rebound in extraction costs for crude petroleum and natural gas (16.1% vs -10%). Producer inflation also increased for manufacturing (0.9% vs 0.3%), particularly tobacco products (3.9% vs 3%), wood and products of wood and cork, excluding furniture (4.7% vs 3.7%), and machinery and equipment (1.3% vs 0.7%). Meanwhile, price growth slowed for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (3.6% vs 4.1%), and water supply, sewerage, waste management and remediation activities (1.4% vs 1.5%). Excluding energy, prices rose 1.1%, moderating from a 1.5% gain in October. On a monthly basis, producer prices increased 0.4%, after showing no change in October.

The annual producer price inflation in Croatia eased to 1.3% in October 2025 from an over 2-year high of 1.7% in the prior month, amid a slowdown in the costs of energy (0.8% vs 2.3% in September), intermediate goods (1% vs 1.2%) and non-durable consumer goods (0.9% vs 1%). Conversely, prices increased at a faster pace for capital goods (4% vs 3.3%) and durable consumer goods (0.4% vs 0.2%).Excluding energy, prices went up by 1.5%. On a monthly basis, producer prices were flat, after increasing by 0.3% in the preceding month.
