Croatia's trade deficit slightly widened to EUR 1.3 billion in December 2025, from EUR 1.2 billion in the same month of the previous year, as imports fell less than exports.
Imports declined by 2.2% year-on-year to EUR 3.3 billion, while exports fell by 4.2% to EUR 2 billion.
For the whole of 2025, the country's trade deficit widened to EUR 19.2 billion, from EUR 18.8 billion in the same period a year earlier.
During this period, exports increased by 4.4% to EUR 25.1 billion, supported by higher sales to both EU (5.6%) and non-EU (2.2%) countries.
Meanwhile, imports grew by 3.3% to EUR 44.3 billion, mainly driven by increased purchases from both EU (1.2%) and non-EU (10.5%) countries.
