Bulgaria Retail Sales Growth Eases in June

Retail sales in Bulgaria grew by 6.8% year-on-year in June 2025, slowing from a 7.2% rise in the previous month.

This was mainly driven by lower sales in non-food products (11.7% vs 12.3% in May), other retail sales in non-specialised stores (13.6% vs 15.6%), audio and video equipment (15.5% vs 17.0%), and textiles, clothing, footwear, leather goods (10.2% vs 17.0%).

In addition, sales in food, beverages, and tobacco (-0.5% vs -0.1%) continued to decline.

Meanwhile, sales increased in automotive fuel in specialised stores (9.7% vs 8.8%) and computers, peripheral units, and software (16.6% vs 13.3%).

On a monthly basis, retail sales grew by 0.6% in June, easing from a 2.0% gain in the previous month.
