Bulgaria Trade Gap Widens in November

Bulgaria’s trade deficit widened to BGN 1,784.7 million in November 2024 from BGN 1,361.1 million in the corresponding month of the previous year, preliminary estimates showed.
Exports dropped 4.8% year-on-year to BGN 6,891.2 million, weighed down by lower sales to non-EU countries (-17.8%), while exports for EU countries rose (3%).
Meanwhile, imports advanced by 0.9% to BGN 8,675.9 million, driven by increased purchases from EU (1.4%) and non-EU countries (0.2%).
In the January to November period, the country’s trade shortfall went up to BGN 11,667.4 million from BGN 8,845.1 million in the same period last year.
