Austria Wholesale Prices Rise at Faster Pace

Wholesale prices in Austria increased by 1.3% year-on-year in January 2025 from 0.9% in the previous month.
This marked the second consecutive month of rising wholesale prices, as costs increased for watches and jewelry (17.5%), coffee, tea, cocoa, and spices (12.9%), and non-alcoholic beverages (11%).
In addition, prices accelerated for meat and meat products (7.4%), books, magazines, and newspapers (6.1%), musical instruments (6%), sugar, chocolate and sugar confectionary (5.7%), stationary (5.2%), and cleaning materials (5.1%).
On a monthly basis, wholesale prices climbed 1.5% in January 2025 from 0.1% in December, mainly due to higher costs for other liquid and gaseous fuels and related products (8.4%), fruit and vegetables (5.3%), motor spirit (5.1%), and musical instruments (4.5%).
