Austria Logs Widest Current Account Gap in 2 Years

Austria posted a current account deficit of €2.1 billion in Q2 2025, the largest since Q2 2023, up from €1.3 billion in the same month of the previous year.
The goods surplus shrank to €1.3 billion from €1.7 billion in Q2 2024; and the services deficit narrowed only slightly to €0.8 billion from €1 billion.
At the same time, the primary income shortfall rose to €1.6 billion from €1.2 billion; and the secondary income gap went up to €0.9 billion from €0.8 billon.
