Armenia Inflation Rate at 4-Month Low

The annual inflation rate in Armenia eased to 4.3% in September 2026 from 4.4% in the previous month, marking the lowest level since May.

Price growth moderated in several categories, including food and non-alcoholic beverages (6.2% vs 6.4% in August), health (3.3% vs 3.5%), miscellaneous goods and services (2.9% vs 3.5%), furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance (2.2% vs 2.5%), communication (0.2% vs 0.6%), and education (3.2% vs 8.3%).

Meanwhile, costs rose for housing and utilities (2.1% vs 1.4%), transport (2.8% vs 2.4%), clothing and footwear (4.6% vs 3.6%), and restaurants and hotels (5.4% vs 5.0%), while costs for recreation and culture increased 0.8% after being flat in August, and inflation remained steady for alcoholic beverages and tobacco at 7.5%.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased 0.2% in September, unchanged from the previous month.

The annual inflation rate in Armenia eased to 4.4% in August 2026 from 4.5% in the previous month, marking the lowest level since May. Price growth moderated for several categories, including food and non-alcoholic beverages (6.4% vs 7.4% in July), clothing and footwear (3.6% vs 3.9%), furnishings, household equipment and maintenance (2.5% vs 2.7%), and communication (0.6% vs 1.1%), while recreation and culture prices were unchanged after rising 0.1% in July. Meanwhile, prices increased faster for housing and utilities (1.4% vs 0.9%), health (3.5% vs 3.3%), miscellaneous goods and services (3.5% vs 3.3%), and restaurants and hotels (5% vs 4.9%). Transport costs also rebounded 2.4% after falling 1.2% in the previous month. Inflation held steady for alcoholic beverages and tobacco (7.5%) and education (8.3%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices edged up 0.2% in August, rebounding from a 1.4% decline in July and returning to inflation after three straight months of deflation.

The annual inflation rate in Armenia eased to 4.5% in July 2026 from 5.1% in the previous month. Price growth moderated for housing and utilities (0.9% vs 1.2%), health (3.3% vs 3.5%), recreation and culture (0.1% vs 0.9%), and food and non-alcoholic beverages (7.4% vs 8.6%), while transport prices declined 1.2% after rising 1.6% in June. Meanwhile, inflation accelerated for miscellaneous goods and services (3.3% vs 2.4%), clothing and footwear (3.9% vs 3.0%), furnishings, household equipment, and routine household maintenance (2.7% vs 1.8%), and restaurants and hotels (4.9% vs 4.1%). At the same time, inflation was unchanged for alcoholic beverages and tobacco (7.5%), communication (1.1%), and education (8.3%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell 1.4% in July, following a 0.5% decline in June, marking a third consecutive month of deflation after nine straight months of increases.
