Armenia Trade Deficit Largest Since 2003

Armenia's trade deficit widened to USD 540.2 million in June 2026 from USD 273.4 million in the same month of the previous year.

It marked the largest trade shortfall since records began in January 2023, as imports rose 8.6% year-on-year to a four-month high of USD 1,096.9 million, while exports slumped 20.5% from a year earlier to USD 556.7 million.

For the first half of 2026, the country's trade deficit expanded to USD 2.71 billion as exports declined 6.7% from a year earlier to USD 3.43 billion, while imports increased 4.0% to USD 6.14 billion.

Armenia Trade Gap Widens in May
Armenia’s trade deficit widened to USD 457.5 million in May 2026 from USD 429.8 million in the same month a year earlier. Exports fell 11.3% year-on-year to USD 522.7 million, while imports decreased 3.8% to USD 980.2 million. During the first five months of the year, the country posted a trade deficit of USD 2,134.9 million, up from USD 1,919.2 million in the corresponding period of last year, with exports declining 3.7% and imports rising 2.2%.

Armenia’s trade deficit widened to USD 477.2 million in November 2025 from USD 442.6 million in the same month last year, as exports tumbled 17.3% year-on-year to USD 902.7 million, while imports declined 14.0% to USD 1,379.9 million.
