Zimbabwe's central bank left its main interest rate unchanged at 35% on February 27, 2026, maintaining the level in place since September 2024.
The country's inflation rate has slowed markedly in recent months, reaching 3.8% in February, helped by the relative stability of the ZIG currency.
Governor John Mushayavanhu emphasized that the central bank needs to ensure inflation is firmly anchored before considering any changes to the policy rate.
