Vietnam Tourist Arrivals Up 1.3% YoY in March

International arrivals to Vietnam rose 1.3% year-on-year to 2.08 million in March 2026, marking a sharp slowdown from the 17.7% surge in the previous month.

The sharp slowdown came amid rising fuel prices, prompting Vietnamese airlines to scale back operations.

Visitors from Asia fell 6.6%, weighed by steep drops from China (-23.5%), South Korea (-5.3%), and Taiwan (-14.6%), despite gains from Japan (18.6%), Malaysia (34.7%), and Thailand (5.7%).

By contrast, arrivals from America increased 18.9%, supported by the U.S.

(18.5%) and Canada (27.0%), while European tourists jumped 34.7%, led by Russia (163.4%) alongside modest gains from the UK (3.0%), France (2.3%), and Germany (15.2%).

Visitors from Australia rose 27.7%, and those from Africa grew 17.6%.

For the first quarter as a whole, international arrivals climbed 12.4% year-on-year to 6.76 million.

Vietnam Tourist Arrivals Rise 17.7% YoY in February
International arrivals to Vietnam rose 18.5% year-on-year to 2.23 million in February 2026, following an 18.5% increase in the previous month. New visa policies, innovative promotion and marketing, broader product offerings, and enhanced service quality helped attract international visitors. Arrivals from Asia increased by 7.9%, led by China (21.6%), South Korea (2.9%), and Cambodia (29.3%), with particularly strong growth also recorded from the Philippines (68.4%), India (62.2%), and Singapore (18.2%). Visitors from the Americas also rose by 21.3%, particularly from the US (20.9%) and Canada (22.9%). In Europe, arrivals surged by 76.7%, with notable increases from Russia (232.9%), the UK (12.1%), France (15.3%), and Germany (17.1%). Tourists from Australia went up by 18%, while arrivals from Africa rose by 16.3%. On a monthly basis, arrivals fell by 9.2%. For the first two months of the year, total tourist arrivals gained 18.1% to 4.68 million.

Vietnam Tourist Arrivals Grow 18.5% YoY in January
International arrivals to Vietnam rose by 18.5% year-on-year to 2.45 million in January 2026, the highest since records began in 2015, following a 15.7% increase in the previous month. Breakthrough visa policies, innovative in promotion and marketing, increased product diversification, and improved service quality helped attract a large number of international visitors. Arrivals from Asia increased by 12.3%, led by South Korea, China, and Cambodia, while particularly strong growth was recorded from Cambodia (122.7%), India (80.5%), Philippines (75.0%), and Singapore (51.7%). Visitors from the Americas also rose by 14.2%, particularly from the US (12.0%) and Canada (22.9%). In Europe, arrivals surged by 59.0%, with notable increases from Russia (195.1%), the UK (23.0%), France (25.3%), and Germany (18.0%). Tourists from Australia went up by 12.8%, while arrivals from Africa climbed by 45.4%. On a monthly basis, arrivals rose by 21.4%.
