Uganda GDP Growth Accelerates to 6.7% in Q3

Uganda's economy advanced by 6.7% over a year ago in the third quarter of 2024, following a downwardly revised 6.2% growth in the previous three-month period.
Output in primary activities grew significantly, increasing by 8.7% compared to 11.3% in Q2, driven by strong performance in cash crops (13.3% vs.
7.6%) and food crops (9.6% vs 12.6%).
Concurrently, growth in secondary activities picked up (5.9% vs 0.6%), underpinned by construction (7%) and manufacturing (6.1%).
Additionally, the services sector continued to rise solidly (5.6% vs 6.8%).On a quarterly basis, the GDP rose by 2% in Q3, after a 2.4% increase in the previous period.
