Tunisia's inflation rate edged down to 4.8% in January 2025, the lowest since March 2021, from 4.9% in each of the previous three months.
The slowdown in inflation was mainly due to softer increases in prices of food & non-alcoholic beverages (5.9% vs 6.1% in December); restaurants & hotels (5.5% vs 6%); miscellaneous goods & services (5.6% vs 5.8%); health (3% vs 3.7%) and transportation (2.6% vs 2.8%).
On a monthly basis, the CPI rose by 0.3% in January, after a 0.2% increase in the prior month.
