The annual inflation rate in Tunisia increased to 5% in February 2026, up from 4.8% in January.
The acceleration was mainly driven by stronger price growth in food and non-alcoholic beverages (6.7% versus 5.9%), housing and utilities (3.9% versus 3.5%), and restaurants and hotels (5.6% versus 5.5%).
In contrast, inflation slowed in several categories, including transport (2.1% versus 2.6%), clothing and footwear (8.9% versus 10%), furnishings and household equipment (4.7% versus 4.9%), health (2.9% versus 3%), education (5.4% versus 5.5%), and recreation and culture (4.4% versus 4.5%).
Meanwhile, prices continued to rise modestly for communication (0.6%) and alcoholic beverages and tobacco (0.3%).
On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased by 0.1% in February, easing from 0.3% in the previous month.
