Tunisia Producer Prices Change at 7.50 percent  
The annual producer inflation in Tunisia rose to 7.5 percent in March of 2018 from 6.6 percent in February. It was the highest producer inflation rate since February of 2012, as prices increased faster for manufacturing (8.4 percent compared to 7.2 percent in February). Meanwhile, cost eased for energy (4.8 percent compared to 5.0 percent) and construction (7.3 percent compared to 7.7 percent). Additionally, prices of mining fell further (-9.7 percent compared to -7.7 percent). On a monthly basis, producer prices went up 1.1 percent after dropping 0.1 percent in the previous month.

The annual inflation rate in Tunisia was unchanged at 7.7 percent in May of 2018, matching November's 27-year high. Prices increased faster for food & non-alcoholic beverages (9.3 percent from 8.9 percent in April); housing & utilities (4.7 percent from 4.5 percent) and furniture & household equipment (8.1 percent from 7.9 percent). Also, cost advanced further for health (5.3 percent from 4.6 percent); miscellaneous goods & services (10.4 percent from 10.2 percent) and recreation & culture (8.7 percent from 8.2 percent). Meanwhile, prices eased for transport (9.6 percent from 10.5 percent); clothing & footwear (5.9 percent from 6.8 percent) and restaurants & hotels (8.7 percent from 9.1 percent). Additionally, inflation was steady for both communication (at 2.5 percent) and education (at 7.2 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices went up 0.4 percent, after rising 1.0 percent in the prior month.
