The decrease was mainly due to a drop in the number of tourists from East Asian countries (-8.9 percent to 31.1 thousand), mainly from China (-14.3 percent to 18.9 thousand); and from Western Europe (-0.9 percent to 39.6 thousand), mainly from Germany (-15.1 percent to 8.6 thousand). Meanwhile, arrivals from South Asia, which account for 31 percent of total arrivals, rose 9.5 percent to 44.8 thousand, led by India (26.6 percent to 34.5 thousand). On a monthly basis, the number of tourist arrivals decreased 24 percent.
