Slovenia Unemployment Rate at 9.10 percent


The unemployment rate in Slovenia fell to 9.1 percent in February 2018 from 10.9 percent a year earlier. The number of unemployed persons decreased by 2,236 to 85,683 and employment rose by 2,386 to 856,777. In February, 5,143 persons were officially registered as newly unemployed, 13.1 percent less than in the same month a year ago. Among the newly unemployed, 3,005 were unemployed due to expiration of the fixed-term employment, 589 were seeking for a first job and 649 were jobless due to permanent redundancies and bankruptcies. In January, the jobless rate was slightly higher at 9.3 percent.

Slovenia Producer Prices Change at 2.20 percent


Slovenia’s producer prices increased 2.2 percent year-on-year in March 2018, following a 2.1 percent rise in the previous month. Prices rose faster for mining and quarrying (2.2 percent from 2 percent in February) and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning (4.4 percent from 2 percent). Also, prices moved at the same pace for manufacturing (2.1 percent, the same as in February) and water supply (-4.9 percent, the same as in February). On a monthly basis, producer prices went up 0.1 percent, after a 0.2 percent increase in February.

Slovenia Consumer Confidence at 1.00 Index Points


The Slovenia consumer confidence increased to 1 in April 2018 from -1 in the previous month. It was the highest reading since January, as improvements were seen in all main components of the survey: general household financial situation over the next 12 months (1 from -2 in March), economic situation (8 from 7), unemployment (-11 from -8), intentions to make major purchases (-19 from -21) and savings propensity (-15 from -17). Also, inflation expectations (31, the same as in March) remained subdued.
