Seychelles Consumer Prices Edge Down in April

Consumer prices in Seychelles edged down by 0.01% in April 2026, reversing a 0.24% increase in the previous month.
This marked the first decline since December 2025, largely driven by cost declines for fresh fish (-6.11% vs -0.56% in March) and other foods (-0.22% vs 0.61%), while prices continued to increase for non-food products (0.12% vs 0.20%).
Among food items excluding fish, costs declined mainly for milk, cheese and eggs (-6.95% vs -5.47%), fruits (-2.04% vs 0.23%), and sugar, jam, honey and confectionery (-1.2% vs -1.75%).
Among non-food products, prices particularly increased for alcoholic beverages (4.55% vs 4.34%), transport (1.42% vs 0.19%), and restaurants and hotels (2.58% vs 2.98%).
On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell by 0.09% in April, the third straight month of decline, following a 0.04% loss in the preceding period.
