Seychelles Inflation Rate at 4.18 percent  
Consumer prices in Seychelles increased 4.2 percent year-on-year in April of 2018, easing from a 4.7 percent gain in the previous month. It was the lowest inflation since December 2017, as prices rose at a softer pace for : housing and utilities (8.8 percent from 12.9 percent in March); other food (1.5 percent from 2.1 percent); and health (1.5 percent from 2.8 percent). In addition, prices of furnishing and household equipment fell (-0.4 percent from 1.2 percent). Meantime, prices went up faster for : transport (19.5 percent from 19.1 percent in March); fish (2.7 percent from -19.2 percent); alcoholic beverages (3.6 percent from 3.2 percent), and miscellaneous goods and services (1.3 percent from 0.5 percent).Meanwhile, prices of clothing and footwear continued to fall (-5.2 percent, the same as in the prior month). On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased 0.2 percent, after being flat in the previous month.
