The annual inflation rate in Seychelles rose to 3.7 percent in November of 2018 from 3.4 percent in the previous month. It was the highest inflation rate since April, as prices increased further for housing & utilities (13.5 percent vs 12.2 percent in October); alcoholic beverages (1.0 percent vs 0.7 percent) and health (3.8 percent vs 3.5 percent). Additionally, cost declined less for furnishings & household equipment (-0.1 percent vs -0.2 percent); miscellaneous goods & services (-0.6 percent vs -0.7 percent); clothing & footwear (-2.4 percent vs -2.9 percent) and recreation & culture (-2.1 percent vs -3.9 percent). On the other hand, prices eased for transport (17.8 percent vs 18.2 percent) and tobacco (0.2 percent vs 0.3 percent). Also, inflation was steady for fish (5.2 percent); education (1.8 percent) and restaurants & hotels (1.3 percent) while other food continued to fall (-1.5 percent). On a monthly basis, consumer prices dropped 0.2 percent.
