Romania Inflation Steady at Over 2-Year High

Romania’s annual inflation rate stood at 9.9% in September 2025, unchanged from the previous month and slightly below market forecasts of a 10.1% increase.
This remains the highest level since June 2023, driven by higher prices for non-food products (11.09% vs 10.48% in August) and services (10.36% vs 9.85%).
Meanwhile, food inflation eased (7.86% vs 8.92%).
On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased by 0.36% in September, easing from a 2.10% rise in the previous month.
