Romania Inflation Rate at Over 1-Year High

Romania’s annual inflation rate grew to 5.45% in May 2025 from a six-month low of 4.85% in the previous month.
The latest figure marked the highest reading since April 2024, as prices rose for food products (6.53% vs 5.57% in April), non-food products (4% vs 3.53%), and services (7.09% vs 6.83%).
On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased by 0.46% in May, following a 0.07% rise in the prior month.
