Paraguay Consumer Confidence Hits Three-Month Low

Paraguay’s Consumer Confidence Index fell 3.32 points to 39.67 in August 2026 from July, marking its lowest reading since May.

The Economic Situation Index decreased to 29.92 from 32.42, while the Economic Expectations Index fell to 49.42 from 53.55.

Meanwhile, consumers’ willingness to purchase durable goods declined, as did their assessment of saving possibilities.

Paraguay Consumer Confidence Edges Higher
Paraguay’s Consumer Confidence Index rose to 42.99 in July 2026 from 41.23 in June, although it remained below the neutral threshold. The Economic Situation Index increased 2.17 points to 32.42, while the Economic Expectations Index rose 1.34 points to 53.55. Meanwhile, 13.50% of respondents said they were willing to save, down 1.50 percentage points from the previous month. Regarding willingness to purchase durable goods, intentions to buy houses and motorcycles increased, while those for household appliances and automobiles declined.

Paraguay Consumer Confidence Improves
Paraguay's Consumer Confidence Index rose to 41.23 in June 2026 from 38.21 in May, although it remained below the neutral threshold. The Economic Situation Index increased by 3.21 points to 30.25, reflecting an improvement in households' assessment of current conditions. Meanwhile, the Economic Expectations Index rose by 2.83 points to 52.21. Regarding saving intentions, 15.0% of respondents said they were willing to save, up 4.0 percentage points from May. Willingness to purchase durable goods also improved across all categories compared with the previous month. On an annual basis, however, consumer confidence was weaker, with both the Economic Situation and Expectations indices remaining below their June 2025 levels.
