The annual inflation rate in the Netherlands fell to 3.1% in June 2025, confirming initial estimates and down from 3.3% in May.
This marks the lowest rate since May 2024, driven by sharp slowdowns in prices for alcoholic beverages and tobacco (5.3% vs 19% in May), upholstery and household appliances (0.8% vs 3.1%), and health (3.4% vs 4.8%).
Inflation also eased slightly for housing and utilities (4.9% vs 5%), while prices declined for clothing and footwear (-1.1% vs +0.5%).
In contrast, inflation rose for food and non-alcoholic beverages (4.4% vs 4.2%) and transport costs rebounded by 0.8%, after falling 1.5% in May.
Meanwhile, core inflation—excluding energy, food, alcohol, and tobacco—held steady at 3%, the lowest in a year.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices were flat, following a 0.5% decline previously.
The harmonized inflation rate, used for EU comparison, edged down to 2.8% from 2.9% in May.
