The Netherlands’ trade surplus widened to EUR 12.47 billion in October 2025 from EUR 9.36 billion in the same month a year earlier.
This was the largest surplus since March, as exports rose 1.1% year-on-year to a seven-month high of EUR 69.63 billion, supported by higher sales to EU countries (+2.7%), while shipments to non-EU markets fell (-1.1%).
Meanwhile, imports increased 1.4% to EUR 57.16 billion, driven by higher purchases from both EU (+1.2%) and non-EU (+1.5%) countries.
For the January–October period, the trade surplus narrowed to EUR 102.9 billion from EUR 111.78 billion a year earlier.
