Namibia Inflation Rate Hits Over 2-Year High of 5.4%

Namibia's annual inflation rate rose to 5.4% in September 2026, the highest in over two years, from 5.0% in August.
The pickup was driven mainly by transportation, where inflation increased to 14.9% from 13.2% in August, owing to fuels (30.4% vs 25.1%).
Prices also advanced faster for health (5.3% vs 5%) and hotels, cafés and restaurants (6.3% vs 6.2%), while food & non-alcoholic beverages held steady at 4%.
By contrast, housing & utilities eased (4.2% vs 4.3%) and the decline in communication prices narrowed (-0.9% vs -1.1%).
On a monthly basis, the CPI rose by 0.4%, slowing from a 0.6% increase in the prior month.
