Moldova Producer Inflation Eases in August

Producer prices in Moldova eased to 0.2% year-on-year in August 2026 from an upwardly revised 0.3% in the previous month.
Costs declined further in electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply (-12.9% vs. -12.8% in July), weighed down by sharper decreases in electric power generation (-14.1% vs. -14.0%) and continued declines in both electricity production (-21.4%) and steam and air-conditioning supply (-10.7%).
On the other hand, prices increased in the manufacturing industry (1.2% vs. 0.9%), as beverages (4.2% vs. 2.3%), textiles (1.1% vs. 0.8%), and paper and paper products (2.7% vs. 1.8%) posted gains.
Costs also increased in mining and quarrying, rising to 8.1% from 7.7% a month earlier.
On a monthly basis, producer prices grew by 0.1% in August, rebounding from a 0.2% fall in the preceding period.
