Moldova Producer Prices Lowest Since 2024

Producer prices in Moldova fell 0.1% year-on-year in May 2026, following a 1.1% rise in the previous month, marking the lowest reading since December 2024.
Cost pressures eased in the manufacturing sector (0.9% vs. 2.4% in April), driven by slower price growth for food products (2.2% vs. 2.4%), coke and refined petroleum products (0.6% vs. 2.4%), and electrical equipment (0.8% vs. 0.9%), while price increases accelerated for the manufacture dairy products (3.2% vs. 1.6%), chemicals and chemical products (2.8% vs. 1.3%), and rubber and plastic products (3.4% vs. 1.5%).
Additionally, prices for electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply fell to 12.8%, matching the pace recorded in April.
In contrast, producer prices in mining and quarrying rose at a faster pace (6.5% vs. 5.5%).
On a monthly basis, producer prices increased 0.4% in May, unchanged from the previous month.
