Mauritius Inflation Cools to 4-Month Low

Mauritius’s annual inflation eased to 4.4% in September 2025, the lowest in four months, from 4.8% in August.
Price growth slowed for food and non-alcoholic beverages (1.1% vs 2.8% in August), transport (3.9% vs 4%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (9.2% vs 9.5%), clothing and footwear (2.8% vs 3%), and education (6.7% vs 6.8%).
On the other hand, prices increased for housing and utilities (2.2% vs 2%), furnishings and household equipment (4.6% vs 4.5%), recreation, sport and culture (3.1% vs 3%), and personal care, social protection, and miscellaneous goods and services (2.6% vs 2.4%).
On a monthly basis, consumer prices decreased by 0.2%, following a 0.1% fall in August.
