Lithuania Industrial Output Rises Further in August

Industrial production in Lithuania rose 4.8% year-on-year in August 2026, accelerating from 3.3% in the previous month. Growth picked up in manufacturing, reaching 5.2% from 3.6% in July, and in mining and quarrying activity, rising to 9.5% from 3.2%. The pace of decline also eased in water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation services, with activity falling 10.1% compared with a 12.3% contraction in July. Meanwhile, the downturn deepened in electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply, where activity declined 6.1% after a 4.3% fall in the previous month. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production rose 0.2%, recovering from a revised 2.7% drop in July.

Industrial production in Lithuania grew by 3.3% year-on-year in July 2026, slowing from a slightly upwardly revised 9.9% increase in the previous month. The softer growth in industrial activity was largely driven by lower activity in mining and quarrying, which fell by 1.6% after a sharp 16.1% gain in June. Output also declined for electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (-4.1% vs -3.6%) and water supply, wastewater treatment, waste management and regeneration (-12.1% vs -7.7%). At the same time, production in the manufacturing sector also rose at a softer pace (3.6% vs 10.4%). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial output decreased by 2.4% in July, slipping from a downwardly revised 1.8% growth in the preceding period.

Industrial production in Lithuania surged 9.8% year-on-year in June 2026, rebounding sharply from a revised 1.1% fall in the previous month. This marked the fastest pace of growth since July 2024, driven by renewed expansion in manufacturing output excluding refined petroleum products (11.5% vs -0.7% in May) and a sharp increase in mining and quarrying activity (9.1% vs 1.6%). The pace of decline also eased in the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply (-3.1% vs -7.4%) as well as in water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation services (-8.6% vs -13.5%). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial output rose 2.1%, recovering from a revised 2.2% drop in May.
