Lithuania Industrial Output Growth Eases in February

Lithuania’s industrial production rose by 1.6% year-on-year in February 2026, easing from an upwardly revised 2% increase in the previous month.

Output growth slowed in manufacturing (1.6% vs 2.1% in January) and electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply (8.3% vs 26.1%).

At the same time, activity declined further for water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation services (-14.8% vs -13.7%).

Conversely, output improved in mining and quarrying, falling at a softer pace of 35.2% compared with a 42.5% drop in January.

On a monthly basis, industrial production grew 0.9%, following an upwardly revised 4.8% growth in the preceding period.

Lithuania’s industrial production fell by 0.8% year-on-year in January 2026, reversing a downwardly revised 3.6% rise in the previous month, marking the lowest reading since August 2025. Output declined sharply in manufacturing (-0.7% vs 3.6% in December 2025) and mining and quarrying (-44.9% vs 5.7%). In contrast, activity rebounded in electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply (21.6% vs -12.2%), while it contracted at a softer pace in water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation services (-10.1% vs -10.6%). On a monthly basis, industrial production grew by 2.6% in January, recovering from a 0.3% drop in the preceding period.

Lithuania’s industrial production rose by 3.6% year-on-year in December 2025, following a downwardly revised 2.1% growth in the previous month. This marked the fourth consecutive month of growth in industrial activity as output increased in the manufacturing sector (3.6% vs 2.2% in November). At the same time, production recovered in mining and quarrying (5.7% vs -1.9%), while it contracted softer for water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation services (-10.6% vs -10.8%). On the other hand, output declined sharply for electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply (-12.2% vs -3.4%). On a monthly basis, industrial production fell by 0.3% in November, following a downwardly revised 2.3% gain in the preceding period.
