Kyrgyzstan Inflation Rate Remains Steady

Kyrgyzstan's annual inflation rate held steady at 11.0% in June 2026, unchanged from the previous month.

Price pressures accelerated for transport (12.0% vs. 11.8%), restaurants and hotels (25.7% vs. 24.4%), recreation and culture (14.0% vs. 11.5%), healthcare (11.5% vs. 11.4%), clothing and footwear (7.7% vs. 7.1%), household goods and appliances (9.8% vs. 9.3%), and alcoholic beverages and tobacco (12.1% vs. 11.7%).

Price growth for education services remained elevated at 22.3%.

Meanwhile, food inflation eased to 9.2% from 9.8%, while housing and utility costs slowed slightly to 9.5% from 9.7%, helping offset broader price pressures.

On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 0.7% in June, easing from a 0.8% increase in May.

The annual inflation rate in Kyrgyzstan eased slightly to 11.0% in May 2026 from 11.4% in the previous month, which had marked a near three-year high. Price pressures moderated in food and non-alcoholic beverages (9.8% vs 10.8% in April), housing and utilities (9.7% vs 12.7%), healthcare (11.4% vs 12.0%), recreation and culture (11.5% vs 11.7%), education (22.3% vs 22.4%), and miscellaneous goods and services (20.9% vs 20.4%). Meanwhile, inflation accelerated for alcoholic beverages and tobacco (11.7% vs 10.9%), clothing and footwear (7.1% vs 6.5%), household goods and appliances (9.3% vs 8.6%), and transport (11.8% vs 10.2%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices edged up 0.8% in May, following a 0.7% increase in the previous month.

Kyrgyzstan Inflation Hits Nearly 3-Year High
The annual inflation rate in Kyrgyzstan rose to 11% in March 2026 from 9.7% in the previous month, marking the highest level since May 2023. Price pressures intensified across several categories, including food and non-alcoholic products (10.9% vs 8.8% in February), clothing and footwear (5.8% vs 5.1%), alcoholic beverages and tobacco (9.5% vs 8.6%), household goods and appliances (7.8% vs 7.3%), healthcare (11.7% vs 11%), restaurants and hotels (21.2% vs 15.9%), and recreation and culture (12.3% vs 12.2%). Meanwhile, inflation eased for housing and utilities (13.1% vs 14.1%) and transport (8.9% vs 9.5%), while remaining steady for education (22.4%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices edged higher to 1.3% in March from 1.2% in the prior month, the highest reading since October 2025.
