Kazakhstan Inflation Rate Eases to 9-Month Low

The annual inflation rate in Kazakhstan eased to 11.7% in February 2026 from 12.2% in January, marking its lowest level since May 2025.
Prices moderated for food and non-alcoholic beverages (5.2% vs 5.4% in January), housing and utilities (0.7% vs 0.8%), transport (1% vs 1.1%), and restaurants and hotels (0.2% vs 0.3%).
Meanwhile, costs remained stable for clothing and footwear (1%), household items, appliances, and routine home maintenance (0.5%), healthcare (0.9%), recreation and culture (0.5%), and education (0.2%), while alcoholic drinks and tobacco products rose slightly (0.2% vs 0.1%).
On a monthly basis, consumer prices edged up to 1.1% in February from 1% in January.
