Kazakhstan’s industrial production surged 12.8% year-on-year in August 2025, accelerating from an 8.9% increase in the previous month.
This marks the strongest expansion in industrial activity since August 2017, mainly driven by a stronger output increase in the mining and quarrying sector (17.5% vs 8.6% in July), and a smaller decline in water supply, waste management, and pollution control (-0.5% vs -16.4%).
Conversely, growth moderated in manufacturing (9.3% vs 9.6%) and electricity, gas, steam, hot water, and air conditioning supply (3.4% vs 9.6%).
On a monthly basis, industrial activity rose 3.8% in August, rebounding from a 3.4% drop in July.
For the January–August period, industrial output increased 7.6% compared with the same period a year earlier.
