Producer prices in Jordan increased 3.47% year-on-year in August 2026, easing slightly from 3.64% in the previous month and marking the smallest gain since deflation in March.
The slowdown was most pronounced in mining and quarrying, where prices rose 1.50% compared with 6.99% in July, as the increase in other mining and quarrying moderated (1.90% vs 7.50%), while crude oil and natural gas remained in deflation (-20.26%).
Prices in electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply also eased to 1.74% from 1.91%.
In contrast, manufacturing prices picked up slightly to 3.71% from 3.55%, driven by higher prices for coke and refined petroleum products (33.67% vs 31.36%), basic metals (1.27% vs -0.56%), furniture (0.88% vs -12.64%), computer, electronic and optical products (5.53% vs 5.49%), and motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (3.75% vs 0.97%).
On a monthly basis, producer prices fell 0.61% in August, following a 1.07% decline in the previous month.
