Jordan Producer Inflation Eases in July

Producer prices in Jordan increased 3.64% year-on-year in July 2026, slowing from a 5.27% gain in the previous month.

Price growth moderated sharply in the manufacturing sector, rising 3.55% from 5.82% in June, driven particularly by softer inflation in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products, chemicals and chemical products, other non-metallic mineral products, rubber and plastic products, paper and paper products, and motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers.

Meanwhile, costs accelerated in mining and quarrying (6.99% vs 1.50%) and electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply (1.91% vs 0.52%).

On a monthly basis, producer prices fell 1.07% in July, easing slightly from a 1.15% decline in the previous month.

Producer prices in Jordan increased 5.27% year-on-year in June 2026, slowing from an over three-year high of 6.60% in the previous month. Prices moderated sharply in mining and quarrying, which rose 1.50% from 17.18% in May. At the same time, manufacturing prices eased to 5.82% from 6.41%, driven particularly by softer inflation in the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products, rubber and plastic products, and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment. Costs also edged down in electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply (0.52% vs 0.55%). On a monthly basis, producer prices fell 1.15% in June, reversing from a 0.58% gain in the previous month.

Producer prices in Jordan increased 6.60% year-on-year in May 2026 from 5.81% in the previous month. This marked the second consecutive annual increase since January 2025 and the highest reading since November 2022, driven by a sharp acceleration in mining and quarrying prices, which rose 17.18% from 8.98% in April. At the same time, manufacturing prices picked up to 6.43% from 5.93%, driven particularly by the manufacture of paper and paper products, refined petroleum products, and fabricated metal products, except machinery and equipment. Meanwhile, inflation eased in electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply (0.55% vs. 1.12%). On a monthly basis, producer prices rose 0.60% in May, slowing sharply from 6.99% in the previous month.
