Jordan Industrial Output Hits 2-Year Low

Industrial output in Jordan fell 1.3% year-on-year in June 2026, reversing from a 1.4% increase in the previous month and marking the steepest decline since June 2024.
Manufacturing output dropped 1.1% following 2.9% growth in May, particularly reflecting decreases in coke and refined petroleum products (-67.3% vs -38.2% in May), basic metals (-0.2% vs 17.3%), and other manufacturing (-20.2% vs -7.4%), while growth slowed in rubber and plastic products (3.4% vs 24.6%), beverages (9.3% vs 11.3%), leather and related materials (25.8% vs 49.9%), and motor vehicles, trailers, and semi-trailers (52.2% vs 124.4%).
Meanwhile, mining and quarrying output declined at a softer pace (-6.7% vs -16.9%), while electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply rebounded (0.7% vs -1.9%).
On a monthly basis, industrial production declined 0.5%, following a 5.8% rise in May.
